It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from there Healy was underway.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was removed Australia required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this championship is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
