Cars in German City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police mentioned they were alerted by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police say early analysis indicate the substance was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; officials are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the attack rendered him stunned and needed to be solved quickly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
